Hi, my name is Aaishah!

I’m a 3rd-year Architectural Engineering student at Loughborough University, currently gaining hands-on experience through my industrial placement year. This opportunity has allowed me to see how engineering and architecture come together to create sustainable and innovative designs—a field I’m incredibly passionate about.

Outside of my academic and professional journey, teaching has always been one of my greatest joys, especially when it comes to English. Having recently gone through my own exams, I’m well-versed in the current curriculum and have worked with students across multiple exam boards over the past few years. I understand the challenges students face, and I pride myself on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where they can build confidence and excel.

What drives me most is my love for learning and sharing knowledge with others. Whether it’s helping someone master a challenging topic or watching their confidence grow, teaching is something I find incredibly rewarding.

Beyond academics, sustainability is a value close to my heart. It’s one of the main reasons I pursued Architectural Engineering—to contribute to creating structures and spaces that are both functional and environmentally responsible.

Tutoring Experience

I am an experienced and dedicated tutor with over two years of expertise in teaching GCSE English Literature and Language. My passion for English stems from my own academic journey, having completed A-Level English Literature and Language, where I developed a deep appreciation for literary analysis, creative writing, and effective communication. This foundation allows me to bring both academic knowledge and real insight into my tutoring sessions, equipping students with the tools they need to excel in their studies.

Throughout my tutoring career, I have worked with over 20 students across a range of abilities and aspirations, from those aiming to secure a pass (grades 4s and 5s) to high-achievers striving for top grades (8s and 9s). My experience comes from working with established external tutoring companies, which has refined my ability to adapt my teaching methods to meet diverse learning styles and academic goals. Whether it’s dissecting challenging literary texts, perfecting exam techniques, or developing critical thinking skills, I pride myself on creating engaging and productive lessons tailored to each student’s unique needs.

One of my key strengths is building confidence in students who may have previously struggled with English. I believe every student has the potential to succeed, and I am committed to helping them unlock that potential. My approach emphasises patience, encouragement, and clear communication, ensuring that students feel supported while being challenged to grow academically.

Beyond exam preparation, my goal is to equip students with skills that go beyond the classroom—skills in analysis, communication, and self-expression that will serve them throughout their lives.
