I am an ambitious, tenacious, and adaptable teacher who has honed strong differentiation and scaffolding skills while teaching at QE Boys, the highest-performing school in the country. Over the past three years, I have taught both GCSE and A Level Economics, consistently delivering high-quality lessons and supporting students to achieve excellent outcomes. Recently, I obtained my QTS, and throughout my teaching journey, I have developed a range of effective strategies through observing senior leadership, my head of department, and other outstanding practitioners. These experiences have helped me elevate my teaching to a level where I can make a meaningful impact on students' lives. I am confident that this foundation will enable me to deliver exceptional lessons to students at FirstTutors.
I have taught for three years at Queen Elizabeth's School in Barnet, where I delivered both GCSE and A Level Economics. In addition, I completed a one-month placement at The Compton School, where I taught both GCSE and A Level Business Studies. This placement exposed me to a different student demographic and presented new challenges, particularly in behaviour management. It was a valuable experience that helped me develop greater confidence and adaptability in the classroom. Working with students of varying abilities allowed me to refine my differentiation and scaffolding techniques—essential components of effective teaching—and gain a deeper understanding of how to support all learners successfully.
My teaching approach is always adapted to suit the needs of the students in front of me. For students with SEN, I take care to understand their individual needs and plan lessons that provide appropriate support, ensuring they can access the content and achieve the learning objectives by the end of the lesson. For higher-ability students, I provide extension tasks that challenge and motivate them, encouraging deeper thinking and independent learning. For students who may need more support, I offer structured guidance sheets that help scaffold their learning and gradually lead them toward completing higher-level tasks. This differentiated approach ensures that all students are engaged, supported, and challenged appropriately.
