Hi!
I am a final year LLB Law student on the graduate programme at the University of Leeds, where I have also completed a BSc Economics and Mathematics degree. I would describe myself as engaging and a good communicator - I'm confident I can find a way to explain even the most difficult concepts!
I love education and have a wealth of academic experience including First-Class grades throughout university, so I'd be more than happy to help students be as prepared as possible for exams.
I have tutoring/mentoring experience from sixth form, where I held sessions for students in lower years (both 1-on-1 and group sessions), to aid in their GCSE preparation.
I have also been tutored myself during A-levels so I believe I have a firm understanding from a tutee perspective of which teaching techniques are most effective for learning and retaining information.
My approach will be mostly exam-oriented, my aim is to get you the best grades possible. We will be looking directly at the board specifications/syllabus and working closely under the specs through whichever topics with which you feel you need support.
In terms of style, I primarily take a practical approach. I will be using real-world examples, analogies and problem questions to gauge your understanding and get you to think laterally about the topics. The harder questions in exams will test your application of knowledge, so we need to make sure that this skill is well polished.
Finally, I am a friendly face and my goal as a tutor is to provide a comfortable, supportive and encouraging environment within which my students feel they can ask questions and engage with the subject.
