I’m Abigail, a passionate musician and teacher with extensive experience in delivering engaging and inspiring music lessons, based near Castle Howard, York. Specialising in Vocals & Piano tuition. My musical journey began at an early age, and I have since dedicated my life to sharing the joy of music with others. I hold a First-Class Honours degree in Music (BA Hons) from York St. John University and am a proud member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians.
As a professional vocalist, pianist, and choir leader, I regularly perform at events and social gatherings, while also running community choirs, and working as a Project Manager for a Music charity. I bring the same enthusiasm and expertise to my teaching, fostering creativity and confidence in every student I work with.
I have worked as a primary music teacher in schools across Yorkshire, delivering the music curriculum to all age groups, leading choirs, and organising performances and community workshops. My experience includes teaching diverse cohorts, adapting lessons to meet individual needs, and promoting a love for music through innovative and inclusive teaching methods.
In addition to my school-based teaching, I have extensive experience as a private music tutor. Over the years, I have taught piano, vocals, and music theory to students of all ages and abilities. Whether preparing students for exams (ABRSM, Trinity, or RockSchool) or helping them develop their performance skills, I am committed to helping each learner achieve their goals.
I believe that every student learns differently, and my teaching style reflects this. I tailor my lessons to the unique needs, interests, and aspirations of each individual. Whether you're a beginner starting your musical journey or an advanced learner refining your technique, I strive to create a supportive and motivating environment.
My lessons are interactive and creative, blending technical skill-building with activities that nurture a deeper understanding and appreciation of music. I aim to make learning enjoyable and effective, using imaginative methods to tackle challenges and inspire confidence.
