My name is Adam Logan. I am an Edinburgh based pianist and composer who teaches piano, music theory and composition to learners of all ages, from complete beginners to late intermediates. I compose video game and film music and have had several of my compositions feature in independent movies and video games. I am also involved with student orchestras and choirs within Edinburgh where I lend my voice as a baritone.
I have taught piano and music theory privately for the past four years to a variety of students from different ages and backgrounds, from primary and high school students their Trinity, ABRSM, National 5 and Higher Music exams, to adults and casual learners wanting to learn to play their favourite music.
I have a First Class BA(Hons) Music degree from Kingston University awarded this year (2024), and I am currently preparing for the ABRSM Diploma.
As each student is different, I like to cater to the needs of each on an individual basis and build a lesson plan from there. My lessons are broken down in 45 minute to 1 hour slots and include:
• Music theory ( rhythm, scales, intervals, chords, clef and notation literacy, four part harmony, counterpoint and musical form)
• Sight reading
• Technical exercises
• Rhythm exercises
• Learning repertoire (classical, pop, jazz, video game music, film music, etc.)
