I have just completed my second year of studying Law at Durham University. I achieved 3 A* grades at A-Level and 8A* grades and 1 A grade at GCSE. I have won a string of prizes for my academic performance. I am also a future trainee solicitor at one of the magic circle law firms.
I love studying Law but I thoroughly enjoyed studying all three of my A-Levels subjects. I'm excited to revisit them and now have an excuse to delve back into them! I received awards in year 12 for English and Psychology and in year 13 I received another prize for English and also the award for Subject Excellence in Politics. I also received the award for Outstanding Achievement Overall, given to those with the best results in the year. I tutored in Psychology and English Literature in year 13 and also ran the History and Politics society in school, so I have a lot of experience in helping students learn more about the respective subjects and reach their goals.
For me, tutoring is about understanding the tutee’s individual strengths and weaknesses to build a core understanding of the subject matter. In my experience, once the understanding is there, the rest falls into place. Therefore, this will be the focus of my tutorials.
