Hello,
I have graduated as a civil engineer in Romania and also the University of Kingston. As a student I earned a bit of pocket money by tutoring mathematics.
I worked for British Railways and participated in the design team involved in channel tunnel rail link.
After having my sons I decided to look after them and with them growing and approaching GCSE I realised that I can help them with my maths knowledge.
I then enrolled as a maths tutor with First Tutors as I firmly believe that tailored tutoring is a key to better understanding and self confidence.
We all know that very few pupils will ask in the classroom if they have not understood something preferring to keep quiet.
My role is to help each of my pupils understand mathematics, encourage them to work hard, to persevere as only with hard work one can succeed.
I've been tutoring mathematics since being student to earn some money and later on have been extensively involved in tutoring my children throughout their 11+ exams, GCSE and A level exams.
I believe that regular maths exercises help the tutees gain their confidence in this subject.
My role is to make sure that my tutees enjoy maths and achieve their goals
I offer my lessons on Skype or FaceTime and this way my tutees are working in their own environment and do not need to travel to my house.
I give more than the hour lesson as I am always helping my tutees in between the lessons if they are struggling with specific questions.
The homework I give is based on the topic we have worked on in the previous lesson in which similar questions were explained
