I am 33 years old cancer researcher, with training in molecular biology. I achieved my PhD in Molecular Mechanisms of Disease in 2021 and have since been working full time as a scientist. I have published research in breast cancer resistance and spread in internationally known journals, and I am daily working at the cutting edge of science. I also have a passion for science communication and in particular, encouraging young women and girls into science! Additionally, I offer tuition at all levels for Biology online! In my spare time I enjoy singing and yoga and look forward to helping you achieve your biology goals.
I have successfully tutored a number of students at A-level Biology, taking them through their exams and helping them achieve their goals. Throughout my years in higher education I have often led seminars with my fellow colleagues, and taught subject material in small groups or one to one. I have undertaken work experience within schools which has also given me some teaching experience within that environment. In particular, my post-graduate studies require that I present and provide subject material frequently.
I feel it very important that during tuition there is space for conversation, dialogue and innovative thinking. My style aims not just to present the relevant information, but to engage you in the subject area. When it comes to exams, preparation is key and therefore using past exam questions and teaching useful revision techniques is very important. Depending on the level that you start at, and the grades that you wish to achieve, I will aim to tailor the tuition to accommodate that. All students learn in different ways, and therefore I can provide materials and subject matter that will hopefully suit the individual. I provide a thorough approach that will require commitment and engagement that will develop you as a scientist.
