My name is Afnan, and I'm a native English and Arabic speaker. I worked in Japan for 3 years as an ESOL teacher. I have experience working with children from the ages of 1 to adults. I studied History, English Language, English Literature, and Government and Politics at ALevel, and so I am confident in teaching these subjects. I like to read books, cook, play chess, and meet new people.
I have worked as an ESOL teacher for 3 years, but also co-authored and co-edited an archaeological publication that you can find on Amazon today. I will graduate with a Level 5 in ESOL within the next two years, as I will start working at Leeds City College as an ESOL teacher. I have tutored History, and Archaeology to causal learners during my time working at museums, and privately at University. I also have experience checking and editing essays for my fellow students during exam/deadline periods.
I mostly teach using a student-centred approach, and also have experience teaching in small and large groups. I prefer to make tuition sessions active, and allow students to be inquisitive, as it helps their learning. I also encourage and teach students various study skills, and how to prepare for study.
