Agnes

Maths and English Teacher in Rochdale

I'm currently studying Dental Surgery at the University of Leeds, with a background in Clinical Dental Technology and a strong academic record. I'm naturally curious and driven, and I love learning just as much as I enjoy teaching. I'm friendly, supportive, and patient – qualities that help me connect with students and create a relaxed, encouraging environment for them to thrive in. With a creative mindset and great communication skills, I aim to make each lesson engaging and tailored to the student’s needs.

Tutoring Experience

I’ve worked as a tutor since 2021 across a range of platforms including MyTutor, Preply, TutorIn and Elephant Connect. I teach students from KS1 all the way through to A-Level in subjects like Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Psychology, English Literature, and Polish. I have a lot of experience supporting students with special learning needs, particularly those with autism, ADHD and dyslexia, and I take pride in making learning accessible and rewarding for every individual. My academic background in science and my clinical training have also helped me develop a strong work ethic and attention to detail, which I bring to my tutoring sessions.

Tutoring Approach

I believe that tutoring should be flexible, student-led, and above all, encouraging. I always start by getting to know the student’s learning style, goals, and confidence levels. From there, I adapt each session to build their understanding step-by-step, making sure they feel supported and never overwhelmed. I break down complex topics into manageable chunks and use lots of examples and practice to build confidence. For students with learning differences, I use a calm and consistent approach, incorporating strategies that help with focus and retention. Whether a student is aiming for top grades or simply trying to keep up, my goal is to help them realise they can succeed.
