My name is Dr Ahwab Alam. I am 29 years old with an energetic passion for teaching and helping our children succeed.
I went to King Edwards' Aston Grammar School, where I was a key student mentor, then did extensive tutoring throughout my gap year and medical school.
I have 7 siblings all of whom went to the grammar schools within the Birmingham area, and have tutored many other pupils with very high success rate! If you are looking for an honest and hardworking tutor to help unlock your child's success, then I would love to be given that opportunity.
I am a fully qualified doctor.
I have been tutoring for the 11+ entrance exams now for over 10 years with high success rate.
I worked as a student mentor in my Grammar School.
Large amounts of teachings sessions, power points and lectures during my time in medical school, as well as 1-to-1 and group tutoring.
I pride myself in being honest with both parents and children, as well as working as hard as possible, being polite and patient.
I pride myself on the quality and style of my teaching.
I encourage children to push themselves to their best of their ability. I employ active learning and spend most of the time during the lesson tutoring and engaging with the child.
Previous clients have admired the fact that I set additional homework and work outside of lessons to be done in preparation for the next lesson, which gives parents and families value for their money
I do hold mock 11+ exams and give parents honest and realistic advice on where their child is at and give them ideas on how best to approach their child's learning.
I have a huge set of resources built over the years of experience, so there is scope for children at all stages and levels.
