I’m a researcher in mathematical physics with experience teaching mathematics at all levels from preparation for 11+ entrance exams to lecturing at university level.
I have a Ph.D. from Lancaster University and have research and teaching experience in some of the top universities in the world.
I’m patient and happy to help you on your mathematical journey no matter what age or ability. I’ll help make maths accessible!
Career Highlights:
Charles University, Prague (2022-2024)
Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Designed and delivered course on quantum cosmology for masters students
Dublin City University (2019-2022)
Assistant Professor
Designed and delivered lecture course in calculus for undergraduate students. Experience in both in-person and online teaching, setting and marking exams, liaising with tutors, etc.
Dublin City University (2019-2022)
Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Won highly competitive research fellowship award in theoretical physics
Lancaster University (2016-2019)
Research Associate
Alongside my primary research role in mathematical physics, I developed a series of seminars in the mathematics of general relativity.
Mathematics Tutor (2014-15)
Tutoring for 11+ exams
I helped children with 11+ entrance exam preparation while studying for my Ph.D. 100% success rate in attaining preferred school!
King’s College London (2010)
Tutor
I tutored physics at the university while I was studying for my masters.
Building strong foundations.
I focus on establishing a solid understanding of key concepts -- to demystify mathematics -- so that students can build upon their knowledge as they advance to more complex topics.
Personalized Learning Plans
I tailor each lesson to meet the individual needs and goals of my students, whether that be intense exam preparation or long-term skill development in tandem with their coursework.
Research-informed approach to problem solving
I employ a research-informed approach to problem-solving which draws on my extensive research experience in mathematical physics. Students of all ages have remarked that this gives much needed real-world context to the abstract mathematical principles at play.
Patience and approachability
Patience and approachability are at the core of my teaching style. I follow the mantra of 'teach, don’t impress,' ensuring that students feel comfortable asking questions and expressing doubts without fear of judgment. This approach helps remove hierarchical barriers to learning, creating an open and supportive environment where students can progress at their own pace.
