I am a writer and musician specialising in cultural nationalism, using perspectives from history, philosophy, and political science. I hold a BA in music from Keble College, Oxford, and an MSc in Culture and Conflict from the LSE. I am a regular contributor to the arts pages of the Financial Times.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught children aged 8-16 in London on a casual basis since 2015, and I provided piano and organ lessons for older learners before the pandemic.

Tutoring Approach

I work with students to identify specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals for each subject. These are pursued using customized lesson plans and active learning methods (suited to the student's age group). For English, history and politics, I use primary source anaylsis and case studies to develop critical thinking and analytical skills. For music, I incorporate listening exercises, performance opportunities, and exploration of music notation and production software.

Finally, where possible I highlight the interconnectedness of my subjects, with discussion how historical events have influenced music and vice versa or how political ideologies are portrayed in literature.
Encouraging students to draw parallels between different subjects can foster creative intellectual approaches.
