Hi there! I offer tutoring in STEM subjects: my interest in which came from my university studies. By day I work as a medicinal chemist, creating the medicines of tomorrow but I also tutor so that I can give back to the community through transferring my own enthusiasm for the profession to others. I hope I am able to simplify the complex and abstract topics puzzling you (let's face it, science is difficult sometimes!) and in the process inspire you to joining me in a career in science!
I have been a private tutor for two years, having successfully guided 6 students through their GCSE and A-levels in STEM subjects.
I studied Chemistry with Medicinal sciences at the University of Southampton, and later completed a PhD in synthetic organic chemistry, specialising in electrosynthesis, a more sustainable method for making molecules.
My teaching style focuses on developing a good connection with my students through effective communication. I encourage self-learning by following up on concepts that feature in our classes to supplement knowledge. My lessons can be utilised to discuss and practice specific concepts, or larger portions of the curriculum, depending on the number of classes required and the needs of the student.
I am familiar with most exam boards for KS3 through to A-level in the sciences and maths, and can teach up to degree level in chemistry. I have been a part-time tutor for two years with several happy students. Please contact me for more information!
