I am a curriculum leader in North London. I completed my Bachelors at the University of Nottingham. This degree covered: literature, language, and drama. I specialised in Modernism with a keen interest in Virginia Woolf.
My masters with distinction was focused on English LIterature. I developed my interest in Woolf but also wrote on poetry and James Joyce's Ulysses.
Throughout my 4 years at Nottingham I volunteered and worked for projects in schools that focused on helping literacy and aspiration.
I completed my PGCE at the University of Cambridge which offered diverse experience of schools and gave me the academic and pedagogical knowledge to help me to be an outstanding teacher.
While in Nottingham I worked in a primary school on a Literacy Support Project to help students in deprived areas with their literacy. Further to this I worked in two secondary schools helping with aspiration for further education and one-to-one support for students who had learning or behavioural difficulties.
In 2016 I worked at Hills Road Sixth Form College for a month, I taught some lessons, created resources for the incoming students on Tragedy and ran sessions during their Hills Fest week.
Whilst at University I was also a peer mentor which involved helping new students settle into University life.
During the PGCE I worked in two schools the second school I worked in offered me a permanent full time job.
Having just completed my NQT year I have supported all year groups through a very strange time. Teaching online in lockdown was a new experience but enhanced my online teaching abilities. I taught all year groups from year 7 through to year 11 during this year.
I have been described as a calm, confident and kind teacher in many of my observations. I will offer personalised tutoring based on the needs of each student. I am patient and fair and will want the best outcome for each student. I care about my subject and I am passionate about education.
