Alicia is just brilliant. We were under pressure to find a tutor in a short time, who could help with specific aspects of GCSE Spanish. Alicia saved the day - she was responsive, flexible (with our fickle teenager), professional, and friendly. Would not hesitate to recommend her.

I contacted Alicia to help with Spanish over the summer. My daughter, who had just completed year 11 was a bit worried about coping with the change in difficulty for A-Level Spanish.

She need not worry as Alicia is an excellent tutor. She has been calm and patient. All difficult topics have been explained really well with great attention to detail. she is thorough, makes complicated methods easy to understand and does not move on to the next topic till she is absolutely confident that my daughter has understood the current topic. Superb resources. Not only is Alicia very flexible and accommodating but she is also very organised with proper structure to lessons.

I have found the whole experience to be incredibly reassuring and provided my daughter does the work, she will flourish under her guidance.

Alicia is an excellent tutor. She is very knowledgable regarding GCSE syllabus and exam requirements and her lessons are well planned and expertly communicated. I receive the relevant documents for each lesson prior to every lesson and a follow up email after each lesson to give me an overview of what was covered and how my daughter is progressing. My daughter is really enjoying the tutoring and is already seeing improvements in her understanding (after 3 lessons). Would definitely recommend for GCSE students and others looking to improve their Spanish - many thanks Alicia.

We haven't had lessons with Alicia for very long. However, we can say that she is always on time, we get a lot of different materials and resources that my daughter can work with. She is extremely kind as well as patient. She explains things well if not understood. I recommend her as she is familiar with both the gcse's and the ib System.

We found Alicia to be an excellent tutor for our daughter’s A-level Spanish exam preparations. She would always send materials ahead of each lesson and provide feedback to us on performance during the lesson. Using Skype was in no way a barrier and if anything, on several occasions Alicia over ran the hour booked slot - such is her passion and dedication. After just a few weeks of lessons with Alicia, the teachers at our daughter’s school mentioned noticeable improvements in her Spanish speaking, writing, reading and history. We have no hesitations in saying that Alicia is a highly recommended Spanish tutor.

He has made so much progress in the last 3 months, his 'working at grade' already up from a 6 to an 8, we couldn't be happier. Excellent tutor.

I decided to get a tutor to help me with the second year of my Spanish A-level after struggling with several elements of the course and also lacking a lot of confidence. I tried several before finding Alicia, who was truly the most wonderful tutor and helped me beyond words, as well as giving me endless encouragement and support which was crucial in the result I achieved in my final exam. If someone had told me how much my grade, and my general Spanish ability would improve under Alicia’s guidance I would never have believed them. Her lessons were never a chore and she catered everything to my exact needs, she also was happy just to chat in Spanish about current affairs or daily life if I was tired and finding grammar a bit too much and this casual conversation was actually instrumental in boosting my speaking/oral side of the paper, in which I scored just under 90%, after scoring around 45% before starting my lessons with Alicia. Muchísimas gracias!!

Alicia worked with me on speaking, reading, writing and listening for my IGCSE and I was really pleased to achieve a level 7. Alicia was always prepared to go over certain topics where I particularly struggled with, for example, the tenses.She helped me to differentiate the different tenses and when and how I should use them. I gained so much confidence with her and I found her really easy to understand when explaining things particularly for my speaking exams. Aug 2019. Alicia is fantastic. She tutors my daughter in A level Spanish. She makes the lessons relaxing and is very encouranging to the child. She prepares well for the lessons providing lots of resources in advance. As parents we are copied in and always provided with feed back after each lesson. She is very accessible.We all couldn't be happier.

We feel very lucky to have found Alicia on FirstTutors, she has been such a huge help to my daughter in preparing from her GCSE Spanish exams. We have had weekly lessons for the past 18 months, working on all areas of speaking, listening, reading and writing. Alicia is warm, friendly and very calm in her approach and my daughter immediately took to her teaching style. She is very organised and reliable, but can also be flexible when we have needed to occasionally change the lesson day/time. I would 100% recommend Alicia, she has given expert guidance and support throughout and my daughter has definitely learn a lot, grown in confidence and benefited hugely from Alicia's lessons.

I am a university student who is currently studying a module in Spanish and is hoping to go abroad to Spain for her third year. Alicia really helped me to develop confidence in my speaking and grammar, which I wasn't as good in. I was able to really grasp the use of the present subjunctive and imperfect subjunctive tenses and understood the differences between the preterite and imperfect with Alicia's help. Alicia is very flexible with her lessons and she will tailor them to your needs. She also has sets of grammar exercises and phrases and will also set exercises from any textbooks that you may have, which I have found to be particularly helpful when doing independent study outside of tutor sessions.

Alicia and I would have whole conversations in Spanish, which enabled me to improve my listening and speaking skills greatly and get used to speaking Spanish within a conversation, which I struggled greatly in doing. If you don't understand something, she will speak slower and in sections, translating each section into English, which was useful for topics which used unfamiliar language and complex sentence structures. I was able to learn a lot of useful phrases to use in conversation which I may not have ended up learning in a classroom setting.

Overall, I would strongly recommend Alicia as a Spanish tutor for an adult/casual learner, like myself, but also for any students doing GCSE and A-Level.

Alicia provided excellent support and knowledge of the GCSE Spanish course. She was of immense help in all aspects of the specification: writing, speaking, listening and reading. She always turned up promptly to lessons, with a smile, and was always very engaging, kind and thoughtful. Alicia's teaching exceeded all expectations and I would thoroughly recommend her. Alicia has been excellent. She is easy to talk to and you feel very comfortable asking her questions when you don't understand. Because she is a native speaker her accent is natural and allows you to improve your own. Alicia was also able to give me lots of help on colloquial and traditionally Spanish terms/language which enabled me to sound more Spanish! I only wish she were my teacher at school, her students are very fortunate!

Alicia Zamora is a fantastic tutor. She works hard with my daughter and brings along a wide variety of work for my daughter to do during the week. Alicia is a very personable individual who has had a great impact on my daughter who has just taken her Spanish A levels exams.
