Hello! I am a dedicated and patient teacher, with over 30 years of classroom experience. I have an Honours Degree in Primary and Nursery Education. My approach is caring, creative and professional. I tailor learning to each individual child's needs and interests. I love working 1 to 1 and getting to know the child. I fully appreciate how a student can benefit from an enthusiastic and encouraging tuor, who really cares that they achieve their best.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught the full range of the Key Stage 1 and EYFS curriculum. My specialism is nursery and reception, my most recent experience is in Year 1. I have taught whole class, small groups and individuals in the full range of primary subjects including , phonics, reading, writing, handwriting and maths. I have prepared pupils for phonics screening and am familiar with Read Write Inc., Letters and Sounds and White Rose Maths. I have worked with a wide range of students and always strive to help the individual- I feel that tutoring is ideal for my approach. My focus for tutoring is mainly Key Stage 1 and Early Years,

Tutoring Approach

A tutor should be approachable, patient and caring, they should be encouraging to promote their pupils self esteem. I assess the child's strengths and discuss with student and parents their particular needs. I like to build on a firm grasp of basic skills in order to foster confidence, I offer lots of praise and fun activities. Once children feel secure they go on to flourish - becoming independent, flexible and enthusiastic learners!
