I’m an experienced teacher of psychology working at a highly successful sixth form college. Also an experienced examiner for AQA, I have extensive knowledge of the subject and specification and am adept at getting the best out of my students. Living in Hove but working in Horsham and with family who I visit regularly in Surrey, I can be fairly flexible about where I tutor, though would ideally be looking at Horsham or the Brighton/Hove area. I can also do online tutoring which can work well.
I qualified as an IT teacher in 2005 and worked in the same school for 11 years taking on the role of psychology teacher around 2008. From 2011, I spent 4 years teaching abroad and brought psychology to the school - setting up the course from scratch. I’ve been in my current role now for 8 years and my students have achieved some wonderful results. I’m proud to be part of a highly successful department with superb value added scores.
I get the best out of my students by building their confidence and independence as well as allowing my passion for the subject to engage and motivate. I am kind, patient and have great enthusiasm for psychology and teaching in general. I adapt my lessons to the needs of my students but work hard to get the best out of them whilst developing their knowledge, exam technique and self belief.
