My name is Alpa. I am 39 years of age and currently reside in Leicester. I am a mother to three beautiful children and work full time as a SEND teaching assistant for over 12 years.
I am very passionate about working with children and would love to give more.
I have a vast amount of knowledge and experience working with children who inhibit additional needs,
I have worked for 5 years at an all aged special for pupils with varying needs from 4-19 yrs.
I have worked under direction of teacher and along side a team of 4 to support the teaching and learning of pupils with send.
I have also worked and supported pupils with complex behaviours, ensuring that positive behaviour plans are followed.
I have worked with pupils with profound and multiple leaning difficulties (PMLD).
Within my role, i have carried out personal care routines.
I have led whole class and followed teachers planning.
In my current role, I have led an SEN class of 10 (Previously called Galaxy ).
I have led a team of 4 in the absence of the teacher, working from teachers plan.
I have given ideas to enhance pupils behaviour, teaching and learning.
I have also written end of year reports alongside the teacher.
I have assessed pupils inline with schools assessment.
Also, supported pupils to address and achieve IEP targets.
Supported pupils during inclusion in mainstream classes.

Led small groups in all areas of the national curriculum as well as deliver alternative curriculum such as dough disco , attention autism, water ritual, write dance, communication through music, sensory stories and story massage.
Have been responsible for collating and making resources to support and develop pupils learning in all areas of communication, interaction, physical skills and well being.
Worked in a Designated specialist provision (DSP) with in a main stream school with pupils with communication and interaction difficulties( predominantly pupils with autism) .
Dealing with parents, communicating in a professional manner.
Translated for parents dut to language barrier.

I follow positive behaviour plans (PBP) to ensure each pupil is getting the right approach from myself.

With my staff I listen, follow instructions and listen to advice and constructive criticism. I take this on board
I am always professional and very supportive with new staff.
