I thoroughly enjoy working with children and have a strong passion for teaching. In my free time I enjoy creative activities such as: drawing, painting, colouring, knitting and lino printing. I have written and illustrated a number of children's books that I like to incorporate into my teaching.
I am a fully qualified primary school teacher, having completed my Primary PGCE in June 2021. I completed my training in Key Stage 1, having experience specifically within a Year 2 classroom. I have experience with children of different backgrounds; including EAL and those with varying additional needs, more specifically with students with autism and ADHD- both as a whole class and on a 1:1 basis.
I currently work for an alternative provision for 16-24 year olds with additional needs. I am currently a learning support assistant but I work 1-1 with some students to give them extra support in the classroom, and help them to understand the lessons provided by the tutor.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, I like to keep my teaching approach creative. I try to provide learners with a range of different activities that are best suited to them and their individual learning needs, using a range of different methods, from worksheets, to games and anything in between. No two people are the same, and I try to keep my lessons engaging so that my learners can absorb the information in a way that suits them.
