I have recently completed my English Literature degree from the University of York, receiving a prestigious education in a UK top 5, renowned department. As a first-generation, working-class student myself, I am passionate about making higher education more accessible and supporting students in their learning. My passion for teaching and the subject is evident as I recently acquired funding to teach English in Thailand and achieved my Level 5 TESOL during the placement. I am offering lessons up to A Level standard to earn an income and share my interest in the subject with others at an intentionally affordable fee.
I am an English tutor who has had tutees aged 10 to 18. I have prepared students for exams such as GCSEs and Reading and Writing Functional Skills, and have seen my students drastically improve.
I have experience in teaching English online, and as such have found ways of engaging with different students, provoking interest and discussion around key ideas. I think that teaching methodology is very dependent on the student and I would work with a students strengths and weaknesses in order to progress, and would be an encouraging, supportive and enthusiastic tutor who would motivate them to succeed. I am qualified to teach ESL and when completing that qualification was able to learn a lot about effective lesson planning and teaching approaches which I have incorporated into my private tutoring.
