Hi! My name is Ameerah and I’ve been teaching our community’s children since 2017. I’m quite flexible as a tutor and will try my best to accommodate timings to your child’s needs. I’m a part of our local community and know what it means to have our children achieve the best they can. Being Pakistani myself, I understand how important the South Asian community value our education and I’m proud to help students unlock their potential.

Tutoring Experience

I have six years experience as a qualified teacher and have been tutoring for over 8 years, with a successful track record. I am an official examinations marker for GCSE English Language with AQA, receiving special mention from my Team Leader for 90% accuracy within my marking. This has allowed me to know exactly what the exam board looks for in student responses. I can ensure your child hits all the assessment criteria for A01-4 as I have inside knowledge of what it takes to achieve those top grades. I have received a 2:1 in my undergraduate degree; BA with Honours in English and Creative Writing which is a crucial component to the English Language Exam - totalling up to 50% of a student’s grade. My skills are specific to the exam and I am able to transfer these skills using a variety of methods. I have taught AQA as well as EDEXCEL including a range of literature texts and language papers.

Tutoring Approach

I don’t have one set way of teaching - my style varies and adapts to each individual tutee. I will work out what’s best for your child and am dedicated to ensure their success. I incorporate methods such as retrieval practice and critical thinking to allow students to develop in-depth analysis. I am flexible in my teaching and availability which works well for a lot of families who have other commitments. Being a teacher for 6 years allows me to have access to an unlimited amount of resources, personalising learning to each child.
