Amelia

Hi everyone,
I'm Amelia and I have recently graduated from the University of Leeds with a 2:1 degree in Spanish. I am currently working as a GCSE Teaching Assistant in Liverpool where I assist in all GCSE classes but my passion and specialisation is Spanish - especially the grammar!

Tutoring Experience

• I spent one academic year in a school in Sevilla, Spain where I taught English as a foreign language to secondary school students. Alongside this job, I gave private English tuition to primary school aged children - including 1-1.
• I have spent two summers in Palma de Mallorca as an Au Pair where I looked after and taught Spanish children.
• Currently, I am a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school in Liverpool where I help Year 11 students who are going to be sitting their exams this summer.

Tutoring Approach

Learning a language should be fun, even if it is for an exam, which is why I aim to make my lessons engaging and interesting as possible with lots of talking. There are four sections to consider when learning a language: reading, writing, listening and speaking alongside getting to grips with the grammar. Each hour-long lesson will aim to develop two of these skills with interactive activities, with the other two skills being tackled in the following lesson and so on. Before and during the first lesson, I will gage your level of Spanish and identify the areas I think we need to work on together and find out from you, what you feel like you need and want to work on the most. From then I will make a personalised plan, according to your needs, to ensure you go into your Spanish exam feeling confident and relaxed.
