I’m Amy Lamorna Ireland, the founder of Lamorna Academy – an educator with over 11 years of experience as an English teacher with a master’s degree in education, specialising in creative writing. As a former Head & Deputy Head of English, I understand the importance of a strong narrative arc, nuanced character development, and language that not only engages but endures—leaving a lasting impression on both the heart and the mind. My passion lies in helping students unlock their creativity, refine their storytelling skills, and develop a deep appreciation for the written word.

Tutoring Experience

With over 11 years of experience as an English teacher and a range of middle-leadership roles, I bring both depth and breadth to my online tutoring practice. For the past five years, I’ve worked extensively as both an online and face-to-face tutor, supporting students across KS3 and GCSE English, as well as developing their creative writing skills. I’m currently the Deputy Director of a thriving tutoring company that specialises in home-education and EOTAS provision, and I also serve as a Board Director for a CIC private exam centre. As an experienced and accredited English Language exam marker for multiple exam boards, I offer my students expert insight into what examiners are really looking for. My online sessions are interactive, tailored, and highly focused on both progress and confidence-building—combining creativity with clarity, and structure with inspiration.
