I was early inspired to teach by my own experiences, by my mother who was a teacher herself and by my desire of transfer of knowledge of Spanish and Economis to students.

I truly enjoy being Spanish/Economics tutor because of my own enthusiasm and dedication to my subjects core Spanish, in addition to Economics and Business Studies. I started to gain teaching experience, beginning by teaching English grammar to Spanish students, back when I was at University. This early exposure to teaching allowed me to develop the essential skills- teaching and communication- to encourage my students understand the importance of communication and learning.
As Spanish Teacher, in Highlands School and in Our lady of Muswell, I have been able to teach students both grammar and practical applications of this subject, relating it to its uses in real life. The nature of this subject, in an environment where differentiation marks a real difference in the pupils individual and personal achievements, endorsed the importance of understanding students as individuals to be able to encourage and motivate them in their learning. Conveying my own enthusiasm for my subjects helped the students develop more confidence and a better understanding of spoken and written English. I have always sought to find new ways of presenting familiar ideas, to ensure that my students gain as much understanding as they can from their lessons. In these demanding role, I carry out planning the overall structure of the whole course, in addition to preparing lesson plans for my own classes. I also worked with adult learners in further education.

In my experience as a Tutor, I have always taught to a high standard, preparing lessons. I have evaluated and marked progress and successfully managed the classroom behaviour, receiving very positive feedback from the Head of the Department, from students as well as from parents.

Tutoring Experience

I am a very resourceful education professional, who can work effectively as part of a team as it is crucial that teachers work alongside fellow teachers, as an educational team, establishing a sound communication structure to share knowledge and experience, as well as individually when required. I have always been very proactive through out my career in my own Continuous Professional Development, completing different courses and training programmes to adjust to and ever demanding and changing environment.
I also completed a PGCE gaining my Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in March 2014.
I have excellent teaching and communications skills that facilitate the rapport with my students. Whenever possible, I tend to adopt the 7 C´s communication approach by being: Clear, Concise, Concrete, Correct, Coherent, Complete, Courteous, which proves very successful in explaining the subject areas.

Tutoring Approach

Over the years, I have learnt that education is an individual, unique experience for every student who enters a classroom. Firstly, I believe that a teacher must be inspirational and consider teaching to be a way of life, not a simply thirty hour-a-week job, because a teacher's goals for his/her students embrace much more. Teachers are professionals entrusted with the education of students and must facilitate learning and growth academically, personally, and ethically by providing a quality education to each individual in the classroom. I will endow students in my classroom with the necessary tools to achieve the values that will enable them to meet their responsibilities in life, as individuals as well as part of society.

I have always been a very energetic Teacher and I have tried to project my enthusiasm in the subjects that I teach, taking an approach of successful institutional behaviour. Motivation and inspiration are key factors for academic education. A teacher needs to be inspirational, project enthusiasm and to strengthen confidence in the students' abilities to learn and be successful in order to achieve active learning. I believe that the educator needs to apply constructivist methods in the classroom, encouraging students to take an active role in their education by making choices and assuming responsibility for their choices and actions. I have always motivated my students by giving them frequent and early positive feedback supporting their achievements, ensuring opportunities for student’s success by assigning realistic tasks, helping them to find personal meaning and value in the subjects they are studying and creating an atmosphere that is open and positive
Mentoring and coaching are also key components to facilitate the student personal growth. A Teacher needs to be supportive and show understanding to each individual circumstance and approachability, enabling students to share their thoughts and experiences.
In order to accomplish these high goals, it is imperative to set a mutually respectful, honest rapport with students, a relationship where communication is one of the highest priorities. This will facilitate an environment of trust and care and caring in the classroom, contributing to a positive academic setting.
I believe that all persons are entitled to receive a quality education and that they also have the ability to learn from a professional, enthusiastic and well prepared teacher, regardless of their gender, race or ethnicity. A professional teacher has to take into account that every student has different learning styles, capabilities and aptitudes and also set out individual and specific goals for each student to enhance their full potential of academic aspirations. Teachers shall encourage individual aptitudes in each student, helping to build self-confidence and lifelong learning skill, creating a mutual respect for individual skills.
I have always proved commitment to the quality assurance systems and processes in place in regards to record keeping by creating and maintaining an electronic records of all activities carried out, including the recruitment process, induction process, initial assessments carried out of students, learning plans prepared and evaluation processes carried out as specified by the Teacher guidance of each School I have worked for.
