My name is Anaïs and I am a second year undergraduate student reading Psychological and Behavioural Sciences at the University of Cambridge. Having applied in 2022, I remember well the stress of preparing a university application, especially for an Oxbridge course. Coupled with my experience tutoring a number of students through several companies, I feel that I have the necessary experience and knowledge to help guide you through your university aplication. If you are looking for help with your university application then I would be very happy to support you!
I also offer tutoring in a number of subjects including Psychology, Biology, English Language and French from secondary to A-level standard. Being a student at the University of Cambridge also means that I have developed effective study skills to maintain high grades through all levels of education. This makes me an ideal tutor if you are looking to improve your study skills and your motivation to achieve and maintain your ideal grades.
I have tutored several prospective applicants for Psychology courses at Oxbridge and other Russel Group Universities. I have also engaged in a number of outreach events at my college (Selwyn College) including delivering mock supervisions and giving advice to the students about their application. Through my tutoring, I have developed a number of useful resources for students hoping to gain a place to study at some of the best universities in the country. These include knowledge building sessions, personal statement guidance (including personalised feedback) and mock interviews. I have also had the opportunity to tutor Psychology to an A-level standard to prepare a student for their upcoming A-level exams. This demonstrates the experience and understanding I have in order to teach each of the subjects I offer to a very high standard.
I offer the following lessons:
- Up to 8 knowledge building sessions (used to boost supercurricular exploration, including undergraduate level content)
- Personal statement sessions (involves advice on structure as well as personalised feedback on students' drafts)
- Mock interviews (hour-long sessions used to increase confidence talking about the subject in an academic-style discussion. Great for Oxbridge preparation!)
- Content understanding from secondary to A-level standard in Psychology, Biology, English Language and French
- Exam preparation with practice questions and feedback
- Study skills help for exams and general study
By tailoring my lessons to suit each student's needs, I am able to help them to enhance their application to their dream university and improve their grades. Most importantly, I aim to improve their confidence and enthusisasm to study their chosen subject to degree level and beyond.
Knoweldge Building sessions include an hour-long lecture on a specific topic taught at undergraduate-level psychology. However, unlike University lectures, I encourage discussion and engagement during these sessions inorder to more deeply understand the topic. These sessions prepare students for both the writing of their personal statement, as well as for academic discussions in an interview. Students will receive the PowerPoint afterwards, as well as a piece of homework to encourage further supercurricular exploration.
If you aren't sure whether I am the right fit for your tutoring needs, try your first session free of charge!
