Hello, I have 35years of teaching experience and love doing private tuition, both 1:1 and small group lessons. It is really lovely getting to know my students and seeing them make quick progress. I have been teaching children, teenagers and adults for many years, and most recently, particularly foreign students. It's a special delight when I teach more than one generation in a family and it is also very satisfying enabling adults to have that second chance at education and a new career, once they have the confidence and tools to pass the necessary exams. My family and I enjoy foreign travel and I also like reading, singing and gardening.

Tutoring Experience

I am a qualified teacher and have been teaching for 35 years in schools, college, university & within industry and ONLINE. I have been doing private tuition for around 25 years. Most recently I have been teaching English as a Foreign Language as well as continuing to do 1:1 tuition with both children, teenagers and adults, within a home setting, in the community or within industry and ONLINE. Sometimes it is just to give greater confidence in English but also tutoring in English GCSE preparation and for the Cambridge PET, FCE, CAE, CPE exams and also IELTS & Functional Skills

Tutoring Approach

I absolutely love doing private tuition and I know from personal experience, when I was a teenager myself, how incredibly valuable and empowering it is. I always tailor- make a course for each student, taking into account their needs, interests and when applicable, exam technique requirements. I tend to teach in my home, so that I can provide a calm, friendly, fun and relaxed atmosphere, away from distractions. Most lessons last 1 - 1.5 hours.
