I am a 30 year old tutor based in Birmingham who specializes in teaching English as a foreign language to adult learners.
I have six years' experience of teaching English as a foreign language, including a year in a language school in the Czech Republic, two years as EAL Co-ordinator at a comprehensive school in the West Midlands, and two years of private tuition in Birmingham. I have taught both one-to-one and groups of all levels and all age groups, including General English, Business English, conversation classes, and preparation for CAE and FCE exams.
I aim to personalize lessons as much as possible. I agree on a loose syllabus with the student and plan lessons around their interests and aspirations. The vast majority of my teaching materials are self-authored and have been created to target specific language problems experienced by the learner. I regularly check with students their sense of progress and any changes they would like to be made to the lessons.
