I’m a very experienced and successful maths teacher. My biggest strengths are the relationships I build with my students and how I improve their confidence in mathematics. Having vast experience helps me to anticipate misconceptions when designing resources and when teaching.
I particularly enjoy teaching GCSE students aiming for grade 4s and 5s as I know what a difference getting a pass grade at GCSE Maths can make to their future.
Outside of teaching, I’m a father of three, play squash twice a week and love spending time with friends and family.
I’ve been a maths teacher for over 31 years and have spent the last 24 years as Head of Maths in a large 11-18 school. During this time, I’ve taught KS3 students (years 7, 8 & 9), GCSE students (Foundation & Higher tiers) and A level students (Pure, Mechanics and Statistics).
Lessons will be very interactive! I’ll be asking lots of questions and we’ll work through problems and past papers together.
The software / technology used will be flexible as I determine what works best with each student.
I keep records of each lesson and will use these notes to plan future lessons so that any misconceptions or gaps are addressed.
