I am a highly experienced and well qualified teacher of Mathematics based in the Southend area. I currently teach at a local FE college, having taught at idependent schools and a local grammar school for several years before that, and I hold a DBS certificate which is on the update service. I hold an upper second class bachelors degree in Mathematics from University College London and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from Leeds University, and I am currently able to offer tuition at all secondary levels including GCSE and A level and Further Mathematics. My preference would be to tutor pupils in the local area, and to do so at their home. My rates are 25 pounds per hour up to and including GCSE, 30 for A-level. All enquiries welcome, and a swift response is promised.
I have taught at a variety of secondary schools in this country and abroad, covering the full spectrum of ability and age range, in both the independent and maintained sectors. In particular, I have extensive experience of the GCSE and A level courses and Further Maths also, and my track record in gaining the highest grades for my students in these courses is well established.
I make good use of examination questions and examples. I take pupils through the standard techniques in the process of problem solving, and believe that the greatest progress is gained through reinforcement, review and practice.
