Hi There! I'm Andy, I'm a freelance Theatre Director and tutor. I am currently the Creative Associate Director at Hightide Festival Theatre, one of the UK's leading New Writing Theatre Companies. I have worked at some of London's leading theatres including The Arcola Theatre, The Bush Theatre, Hampstead Theatre, The Finborough Theatre, The Old Red Lion and The Kings Head. I have also worked at London Drama schools including the Arts Educational Schools and Mountview Academy of Dramatic Arts.
Through my work as a Theatre Director I have developed strong and effective communication skills which translate when tutoring. With professional theatre and teaching experience I know I can bring the best results for anyone wishing to learn!
I first began teaching when living in Australia. I was a student teach at St Philip's College where I specialised in teaching Drama, English and Music. I predominantly worked with students from 11-16. Through my work in Theatre I have ran numerous workshops with adult and younger actors, specialising in areas such as Shakespearian text, Drama School auditions and Monologue work. I have been lucky enough to work alongside leading directors in workshop situations.
As someone who always struggled with conventional methods of learning, I believe that each individual deserves their own tailored approach. Through my experience I hope to engage in creative and interesting ways of working through the desired material. I'm a approachable and friendly person who I hope will be able to get the most of of my pupils.
I like to have a consistent dialogue with both the parents and student to see how we believe the sessions are going.
