Hello, my name is Angela and I am a fully qualified Science teacher with a specialism in Biology. I have 6 years Secondary School classroom experience, teaching KS3 (11-14 years) and KS4 (GCSE, 14-16 years). I was awarded Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a Post Graduated Certificate in Education (PGCE) in 2019. I also hold a First Class Honours Degree (BSc (Hons)) in Human Biology and Infectious Diseases (2014). I am also experienced in exam marking and am therefore competent in teaching exam techniques.
I have 6 years experience of both classroom teaching and online tutoring of Science, following the KS3 and KS4/GCSE National Curriculum, across different exam boards. I am experienced in teaching students of all abilities, including higher, foundation, SEND and EAL students. I also have 10 years Science industry experience.
I have a student-centred teaching approach, ensuring my lessons are differentiated appropriately, engaging, supportive and relatable. I incorporate exam-style questions into my lessons, and model techniques to approach and answer these, building student confidence and independence in preparation for their examinations.
