I am a reliable, friendly and qualified teacher with considerable experience and confidence in teaching students of all different levels and abilities. I'm trained and experienced in teaching KS1 and KS2, English and Reading, Maths, and all other subjects. Tutoring Experience
I taught for 10 years as a Primary Teacher in both the private and the state sector. I have been tutoring for 15 years and am currently working with individual and small groups of children specialising in supporting children who find learning more challenging, need a confidence boost and those wanting more challenge.
Tutoring Approach
Initially, I will work alongside the student and his/her parents to determine exactly what they hope to gain from extra tuition and where difficulties have arisen in the past. This information will then be used to create individual lessons targeting key areas that have been identified. I am particularly aware of the importance of treating every young person as an individual. My sessions will be delivered with the focus of enjoyment, high expectations (both academically and behaviourally) and motivation to ensure potential is fulfilled. I believe that an encouraging and student-centred approach where learning is fun and engaging is fundamental. Part of my tutoring process involves regular parental consultations and I endeavour to work closely with parents to ensure I meet their expectations.
