Hi, my name is Ann and I've been teaching Mathematics and Statistics professionally now for over 26 years as a college lecturer. I am also an experienced tutor having worked privately over many years.
I have a degree in Mathematics, a post graduate degree in Engineering Science, Post Graduate Certificate in Education and I also have full disclosure.

I studied Mathematics, Engineering and Computing at university and worked in the Engineering, Business and Financial sectors before entering lecturing after having my family.

I am passionate about the subject and about helping all my students achieve a better understanding of mathematics, to develop their problem solving capabilities and to heighten their interest in the subject.

Tutoring Experience

My lecturing experience has centred on teaching Higher and Advanced Higher Mathematics, Advanced Higher Mathematics marker, Mathematics units for HNCs and HNDs in Engineering, Science, Construction, Technology and Business.

I have also taught Statistics units which are part of HNC and HND courses.

I have worked in college/university partnerships for Engineering courses and taught advanced topics at first and second year university level. The topics include Advanced Calculus, Complex Numbers, Vectors, Matrices, Linear Geometry.

Tutoring Approach

Mathematical skills play such an important role throughout our modern world, being widely used in many areas including Engineering, Technology, Finance and Science.

I want my students to become proficient as well as enjoy the satisfaction of solving a mathematics problem.

Often there are several approaches to solving a mathematics problem and I work with my students to find the method that they understand and can carry out.
