I am a fully qualified, very experienced friendly teacher who will help student's to improve their grades. I can help students of all abilities to refine and practice their exam technique.
I've been teaching Business Studies for the last fourteen years and I have taught and examined across all the exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel and OCR. I have taught both Applied Business Studies and Business Studies at both GCSE, IGCSE, BTEC and A Level. I have an enhanced DBS check.
I have been Head of Careers at a top Independent school for the past 10 years and so I am also highly experienced at helping students to write their UCAS Personal Statements and prepare for interviews and assessments.

Tutoring Experience

As a fully qualified, working teacher, I have extensive experience of helping students to achieve top grades and maximise their marks in exams. I am experienced in working on a one to one basis, and have helped students with Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, ADD and Aspergers. I am also a specialist when it comes to Controlled Assessment, BTEC Coursework and Assignments, and can help with planning, research and write-up.

Tutoring Approach

I like to inspire confidence, particularly for students facing challenging exams. I can help students to know exactly what the examination requires, so that students are secure and feel able to cope with the exam.
My approach to tutoring is a very personalised, centred around what the tutee wishes to achieve. I believe in establishing what they want first and then tailoring my approach to them. I like to use a variety of methods and resources. I know how important it is to build a relationship in which they feel comfortable discussing their needs. I help students by improving and refining their exam technique and improving their knowledge of the subject. Having worked in Business before my teaching degree, I am able to bring real world examples to my lessons and find that it helps students relate better to the theory they are studying.
