I am a passionate Maths tutor, who has over 2 years of tuition experience and attained A*A*A*A in A Levels (2A* in Maths and Further Maths).

Tutoring Experience

Having been through GCSEs and A levels myself, I can relate many students who are struggling alone. I have also had many tutors in the past, which taught me what a student may need the most.

I keep open discussion and frequent communication with both students and parents for tailoring my sessions. This helped my students to achieve on average 2 or more grades.

Tutoring Approach

I like to understand and analyse where the student is struggling at or wanting to improve the most before the session.

According to their needs, I will prepare and we will be going through the main concepts and theories, and attempt numerous examples questions until the students understand it through my explanation. During the tuition, the students will attempt questions with increasing difficulties, and gradually build up the confidence. I always encourage my students to attempt the harder ones once they understand the basic, as I believe it will grow the ‘can-do’ attitude of the students and will be beneficial when they are doing exam papers themselves. When they get stuck, instead of giving them the answers and full explanation, I like to guide them step by step by giving hints when they tried their best.

I believe that every student can fulfil their maximum potential with a suitable teaching style (that builds up confidence and understanding), and a good amount of practice to excel at the weakest subject. After the session, I tend to give the student some suggested independent work according to their needs reflected during the session. In the next session, we will recap quickly from the last session and starting a new topic.
