Leaving full-time teaching after a long and successful career has enabled me to focus my energies on tuition through my company, MindThrive Learning. I greatly enjoy the opportunity to work with individuals and small groups, developing students' resilience and ability to flourish alongside their subject knowledge.
I have taught for over 30 years in a selective independent school, both English and Drama to A Level. I was a Head of Department for 25 years, achieving excellent results. I have expanded my skills, qualifying as a teacher of Mindfulness five years ago, delivering workshop-style classes to secondary school age students and PSHE courses on mental health and wellbeing.
Teaching is as much about instilling confidence and encouraging resilience as it is about delivering content. Enabling students to cope well under pressure is the key to success, which is why I put the emphasis on a mindful, resilient approach to learning.
