I am a recent Finance and Economics graduate from the University of Strathclyde, specialising in areas such as statistics valuation metrics. I have had a pasison for maths since highschool where I competed in both the maths and physics olympiad, obtaining a silver certificate in both. Using this experience, I have taught many of my family and friends and have now branched out to teach all who are willing to learn! I am set to begin a Masters programme in Finance and believe this teaching opportunity will blend perfectly with my work, to give the best possible teaching experience to all my students!
I have had informal experience tutoring family friends in National 5/GCSE Mathematics and HIgher/A-Level Mathematics. I have had formal experience teaching Maths to two National 5 level studentrs in 2020, both of which have obtained A's in their final exam. I have participated in the Management Development Programme offered by the University of Strathclyde which has honed my communication and articulation skills which have benefitted my teaching experienc so far.
My approach is dissecting the the student's main problematic areas initially and delving deeper into the topic. I have always seen maths as a pattern exercise which has made applying maths in realistic situations far easier and so will angle my teaching around this. Mastering the basics of each mathematics area will cement a solid understanding of each topic which will then be applied to past paper questions. My teaching style will be quite flexible based on the strengths of the student!
