I have experience working as a secondary science teacher for nearly 20 years. Teaching has always been my passion as I believe it is one of the noblest of professions that deal with life-changing and destiny-altering powers.
Over the years, I have worked with students with different attainment levels from different backgrounds. It is not an easy task to involve in differentiate teaching, still I have already built the confidence to face that challenge with the enhanced teaching skills and professional, academic and research experience gained throughout my teaching career. I have used many different ways of engaging the students and guided them towards the progress through formative and summative assessment, targeted scaffolding and interventions when necessary. I have a proven track record of producing excellent results with GCSE level students with an average student passing percentage exceeding 95%.
In terms of my academic knowledge, in my under graduate studies the experience I have gained by the practical sessions for most of the disciplines, help me not only to understand the fundamental of the particular subjects but also to develop the practical skills. During my post graduate degree, I have got the opportunity to enhance my knowledge not only in Molecular Biology but also most of the branches in Biology which built confidence to teach biology in advanced level standards. Also I have been working as a member of the national paper marking panel as well since 2014. I was able to produced excellent results with advanced level students with an average student passing percentage exceeding 90%. I would like to highlight that over the years I have developed a vast knowledge bank covering all three disciplines of science during my teaching career and I am confident in teaching physics and chemistry up to GCSE level.

Tutoring Approach

I use structured PowerPoint and ActivInspire presentations, sometimes video clips to cover the theory. Work sheets are provided to practice what the students have learnt and to improve the long term memory. Also I provide chapter wise GCSE question papers and the answers are discussed with the students in order to make them write accurate answers. Google classroom is conducted to share the presentations and the notes.
