Barbara

Hello, my name is Barbara. I currently hold a Batchelors Degree in Humanities (Classics) and a Postgraduate Teaching Qualification in FE. I'm in my final year of an MA in English at University of Dundee. I currently teach Communications and English and I'm available for home tuition in the Scottish Curriculum.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching in FE for the last seven years. Prior to this I taught in the prison service and in community education, for over 15 years.

I am a registered teacher with the General Teaching Council of Scotland (GTCS).

I graduated with distinction from the Teaching Qualification in Further Education at University of Stirling.
I'm currently in my final year of an MA in English at University of Dundee.

Tutoring Approach

I understand that English can be challenging, particularly when managing dyslexia or other additional support needs. Every student is unique and I am happy to work one-to-one with students, at their own pace, to find individual learning strategies that work each student, so that every student can achieve their learning goals and reach their potential.
