Hi, I’m Barney, and I’ve loved maths for as long as I can remember! From playing around with numbers to spotting patterns in everyday life, maths has always been my favourite subject. Now, I get to share that passion with my students, helping them see maths not just as numbers on a page, but as an exciting, logical puzzle waiting to be solved.

Beyond maths, I’m a keen traveller and have lived all over the UK and in different countries, giving me a broad perspective and an adaptable teaching style. My lessons are full of energy, enthusiasm, and fun—my students often tell me they leave sessions feeling more confident and even excited about maths!

Tutoring Experience

I hold a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Leeds and have a strong academic background, including A-Levels in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, and Chemistry. With several years of experience in education—including two years as a secondary school teacher—I have supported hundreds of students in achieving their academic goals. I am passionate about making learning engaging, accessible, and tailored to each student's needs, helping them build confidence and reach their full potential

Whether it’s using real-life applications, interactive problem-solving, or linking topics to hobbies like gaming, sports, or art, I ensure every session feels meaningful and enjoyable.

With 2 years as a secondary school maths teacher and 3 years of tutoring experience (both online and in-person), I understand how to adapt lessons to suit all learning styles. My students not only improve their confidence and grades but often leave lessons loving maths more than ever!
