Having left behind my career in the media and retrained in 2020, I now a devoted and passional English teacher with four years of classroom experience. As a teacher, I delight in finding creative and unique ways of engaging young people in the subject that I love and have built an exemplary reputation amongst colleagues at my school for professionalism, dependability and dedication to the young people in my care. I pride myself on being someone who is never satisfied with ‘good enough’, who is dedicated to developing my approach and, ultimately, maximising the potential of those I teach.
I will take time to assess and diagnose my tutees ability and needs, working with parents and student to ascertain the skills or content that must be developed in order to improve performance and grades. Using and adapting the vast collection of resources I have developed in my time as a classroom teacher, I will work with the student to help them progress and understand the tools they will need to succeed. My resources are extensive, and I can provide extra activities and study-guides to help the student continue that progression outside of the one-on-one sessions. I pride myself on being able to find a spark and to harness enthusiasm in even the most apathetic of students.
