I am currently a student teacher in a Welsh medium school, undertaking my PGCE in English.

I am an English Literature masters graduate, graduating in 2022 with a Pass with Merit. I am also qualified to teach English as a Second Language, having completed a Level 5 Certificate with The TEFL Academy in 2022.

I am DBS certified, and have all certificates on hand if requested.

Tutoring Experience

I am currently a student teacher in a Welsh medium school, undertaking my PGCE in English. I have experience in teaching KS3 (years 7 to 9) in English, taking a series of classes to cover long-term absences.

I also have experience in tutoring English, having volunteered with EYST Online Homework Club where I supported a variety of students with their English homework and revision.

Tutoring Approach

We will set small, reasonable goals to track your progress and avoid feeling as though you are not improving. We will work with patience and understanding as we prioritise strengthening your weaknesses, while also maintaining your strengths. Our sessions will run from 45 minutes to an hour, ensuring we have time to develop your skills without pushing too hard. I am aware that every student has different ways of learning, and I will adapt our lessons as needed to best suit your needs.

We can focus your lessons on specific topics where you feel you can benefit from extra support, or we can utilise our sessions to run alongside your current lessons in order to support your in-class learning.
I will adapt our approach as we go to best suit your learning needs, and we will work with patience and open discussion.
