I am a friendly and approachable person with a bubbly personality. I am empathetic and caring, ensuring people around me feel comfortable, and safe to analyse their own understanding.
I live in a cottage with my cocker spaniel in a tiny village in north east Leicestershire. In my spare time I enjoy openwater swimming, climbing and walking with my dog Pepper.
I have been a secondary science teacher for the last 16 years. I worked for 7 years in a mainstream all boys school and for 9 years in a special SEMH school.
I have worked at several levels of responsibility within departments including most recently head of department.
I have privately tutored young people in the past in preparation for GCSE exams with excellent results.
I have a friendly approach to all of my students and prefer to build their confidence and abilities in a comfortable setting. I am very flexible in my teaching approach and will change it depending on the young person I am working with. I specialise in working with students with SEND, and have in the past worked with young people who have dyslexia and synesthesia.
