I have recently relocated to the UK having lived in Atlanta, GA for the last 23 years. I have two children who both started at university in September.
I gained QTS status in 1998. I subsequently moved to the USA where I taught for three years before staying at home to raise my children. During that time I set up a business running infant and toddler music classes. In 2016 I returned to the classroom at The Schenck School, a private school for dyslexic learners. I have been supply teaching in local schools since my return to the UK.
The Orton Gillingham philosophy dictates a prescriptive and diagnostic approach to tutoring so after initial assessment, an individual programme is designed to meet the specific needs of each learner.
