My name is Catalina and I am from Barcelona, Spain.
I have +15 years of one-on-one Spanish tutoring experience.
I have lived in the UK and in Belgium in the past but I am now back home working as a foreign affairs specialist in the government; I am therefore only offering online tutoring at the moment. I did my undergrad in Politics at the University of Warwick and I have a Masters on International Relations.
I absolutely love languages, accents and teaching. Also chocolate.
I have been teaching young students from my school since I was 15. My lessons were mainly in French about history and geography, maths, French, Spanish, Catalan and English grammar and literature etc. I had taught Spanish to adult English-speakers in the UK, face-to-face as well as online. I have been very lucky to have the most wonderful experiences with all of them.
I am friendly and personable with my students, and as I get to know them personally it helps them feel comfortable and relaxed in their learning.
In the past I have helped students with their homework, but I always motivate them to give thought and consideration to their answers.
Regarding exam preparation, I find it beneficial both to discuss answers to the exam questions, and to divide the examined material into a study scheme. The latter helps motivate the student to study as they perceive a lighter workload.
I provide teaching materials personalised for each of my students.
