I am an outstanding, experienced Primary School teacher, specialising in Maths and English.I am currently working as a full time tutor and I am up-to-date with the changes and expectations imposed by the Department for Education. I hold a BA in Primary Education (age range 3-11) and graduated with a first class degree. I have a keen interest in Literature.I am a native English speaker and fully DBS checked.
I have been working in education since 2010 and tutoring privately for a number of years. In addition, I have previously taught Nursery, reception and Years 1,2,3,5 and 6. I have worked and continue to work with SEN children. I have worked across a range of schools in London which I feel benefits me as I have a wealth of experience in different settings.
I like building a dialogue with my pupils which allows them to enjoy and take ownership of their learning. Once targets are identified, I put together lesson plans that will cater to my pupil's needs and learning style. At the core of my practice lies keeping my pupils engaged and passionate about learning. I succeed in this through the use of hands on resources(i.e.numicom,maths mats, word banks, puzzles), varying tasks, scaffolding and discussion. By looking at each individual's study skills, I am able to understand why the student is having difficulty with certain concepts. This is particularly crucial when working with students who are in transition from one school to another. Together we work to find an approach that will help the student to fully understand material. These tools help my students to excel in their exams and further studies.
Tutoring should be lively and engaging, and never boring. I aim to make tutoring something your child looks forward to during the week. I work with your child's interests to tailor lessons to their learning style. I specialise in online tutoring, using games and online classroom tools to engage children of any age
