My name is Celia Frew. I live near Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire. My passion is for Mathematics, baking, my animals and the countryside. I have two border collies and enjoy training and competing in sheepdog trials.
I have been teaching Maths (up to GCSE level) for six years and before that working in a primary school as a teaching assistant. Prior to this I have varied and practical work experience and place great value on vocational courses and career paths. I have taught in a Leicester college and for SMB group. My passion and specialism is understanding and teaching students who have been left behind and have basic gaps in their knowledge and therefore increasing confidence in their own abilities. I teach Entry Level Maths, Functional Skills Level 1 & 2 and GCSE 1-9.
My practical and Mathematical background combined are of great value in teaching. I use diagrams/pictures and practical manipulatives to help teach Maths concepts. Alongside this, I find it especially important to make sure that explanations are clear, delivered at a pace that suits each student and to make sure that enough thinking time is given to allow students to process properly what is being taught.
