As a recent graduate from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama's Classical Acting MA programme, I have always enjoyed bringing my natural theatricality and love of play into my lesson plans. Restoring and bolstering children's love of learning through developing unique and engaging approaches to core subject matter has always been the aspect of my work which I most enjoy. Fine tuning my teaching style to best suit each one of my tutees is what keeps me excited to continue tutoring for years to come.
Outside of class, I enjoy spending my time in the hills: walking, fell-running, rock-climbing, bike-packing, kayaking, and skiing. I’m currently training at drama school towards my Classical Acting MA, am part of an improv comedy club, and regularly attend portrait classes, contemporary dance workshops, and film-making lock-ins. I'm from London originally and can usually be found somewhere between the Tate, ICA, and National Theatre on a rainy afternoon. I've recently become the first Type 1 diabetic to complete the 2000 KM End-to-End Trail across Great Britain to raise money for a children’s hospital. My latest podcast about my hiking adventures is available to listen to here: Removed
I have worked as a specialist SEN tutor for 3 years and taught 11+ and 13+ for another 4 years prior to that.
I have a wide range of experience helping tutees secure places at some of the most prestigious independent schools in the country. As a Radley College scholar and a working actor, I have a unique set of skills and experiences that allow me to provide fully comprehensive support to my tutees to help ensure they secure a place at their dream schools. In particular, I am able to really support pupils with their interview technique and presentation skills so that they're feeling confident about every aspect of the 11+, 13+, or scholarship assessment.
At GCSE Level and above, I specialise in English Literature and Drama. In particular, I am often asked to come in and help pupils with their Shakespeare and Creative Writing work.
As a recent Masters graduate from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, I also teach specialist classes on monologue preparation for drama school entry. I’m currently training in Classical Acting and so am often specifically requested to help students prepare for the Shakespeare components of their GCSE, A-Level and Undergraduate exams. With my younger tutees, I thoroughly enjoy helping children to prepare for interviews, debate clubs, and poetry competitions and working with them in a more holistic capacity to help build their self-confidence.
I also teach English Literature, Creative Writing, and Drama at GCSE, A-Level and Undergraduate level. Over the last 2 years, I have dedicated a lot of my time to developing a fully bespoke teaching style for some of my SEND and homeschooled tutees. With each of my tutees, I make it my mission to develop a learning framework that can suit them as they progress. There are a whole host of alternative learning techniques that I've found immensely useful in being able to offer the families I've worked for in the past.
