Born and raised in Coventry, I am a passionate and dedicated teacher of English with a particular interest in grammar and the English Language.
I have been teaching in state comprehensive schools since gaining my PGCE in English and Drama from Warwick University in 2006.
I work as a Lead Practitioner in English across a MAT - some things I do in my current role involves delivering training, coaching and mentoring both new and established teachers (at both primary and secondary level) as well as teaching KS3, KS4 and KS5 (with English Language being a specialism).
I have also taught year 5 and 6 as well as students working in specialist provision.
Recently, I have been through two Ofsted inspections where I have personally been given an outstanding rating for my own classroom practice as well as securing some excellent GCSE and A-Level results for students with a wide range of needs, including those with English as an additional language.
I believe still working within the education system gives me the edge when it comes to tutoring as I am up to speed on all the current changes and reforms within the GCSE and A-Level courses as well as what is expected from students within their KS3 years.
To add to this, I am an examiner for the GCSE exam board Eduqas, so am up to speed on what they are looking for if your son or daughter is sitting this particular examboard.
Personalisation is my approach within the classroom, so it is also my approach to tutoring as no two students are the same. We can work together to draw up a plan of what we want the sessions to look like and take it from there.
